So. I was just pondering...

Just about everyone i talk to, who is single, and a few who are married or in a relationship, they all say, "I want love." So, that is what sets me to pondering. With so many people in this world "looking for love", why does it seem to few people manage to find it ?

 

I would say you're a "glass is half-empty" sort of a person. There is love all around you, if you look, and if you open your heart.

Some people will claim there is more bad in the world than good, but that's only because they're in an environment with mostly bad people. I think location has a lot to do "finding" love. 'Bad' environments make it hard for people to trust each other, which is necessary to kickstart a good relationship. But often people do this, and their trust ends up betrayed over and over again, so eventually they give up on it when they reach past middle-age.

As for the definition of love, well...that's a bit debatable

 

It's an elusive bastard.

 

love is the fear of being alone. we are social animals.

 

Because we sober up eventually... and love is a one time shot.

 

Love is frantic, fleeting and intense. Relationships are predictable, comfortable, and long lasting. What starts as something that will blow your mind, someone that understands you and knows how to make you smile will more often then not get taken advantage of, the miracles becoming commonplace, and the wonder slowly fading with time. The relationships that keep love don't need candles, or wine, or some grand displays of affection, just two people that make sure they always tell their partner that they love them, and never take each other for granted. Love is a alive, something that flows and changes, and we are not all lucky enough to hold onto it

 

Love to me is a set of requirements that are needed to feel fulfilled in life. Love can be described as a feeling of intense need for action and continuation.

How can you look for love when you don't know what you want in life? I've realized that it helps to focus on goals that I want to achieve in my life, and letting those targets arrange a series of passions that somehow work themselves into "love."

I know, sounds pretty shitty but I'd prefer to not feel empty each day because I haven't "found" love.

 

Please tell me you didn't write that drivel yourself? I had hoped you'd given up writing poetry after your last sorry effort.

 

Impressive reasoning Incy. Although I don't agree fully. A very evolutionarily based reason for love.

 

Sure, I want love - but I don't want to be hurt. And since that happend every time so far, I'm careful when it comes to meeting men and starting to develop feelings for them.
As long as it isn't a special person and special feelings right away, I don't go for it. Thus, it is hard to find love.

I have stopped looking, and to be honest, I feel better.

Well I have had much to drink, so my truth, I don't want love, I don't need to love or feel it. As soon as a girl gets too close I always want to push them away.
I enjoy being alone and I don't need anyone to validate my existance.

Live alone, die alone, it makes no difference really.

 

Yeah, but it's a lot more fun to have someone to snuggle with.

But it's weird because all my friends start to get married and have kids. Some of them are a bit older than I am, but not much. I wouldn't even know who to marry if my life depended on getting married asap. :lol:

 

Then you shouldn't do it. Just tell your married friends that you're still having fun fucking your brains out.

Someone will come along. Someone came along for me.
