  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

This is actually the only story on Bahrain I've seen anywhere. And while Al Jazeera redeems itself slightly by even reporting on the government crack down on Bahrain its actually still pretty weak reporting from what I've come to know as Al Jazeera standards.

    Rights groups slam Bahraini crackdown
Bahrain denies claims by international NGOs that it has been targeting medical facilities and torturing activists.

    *not_secure_link*english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2011/04/201142374851328825.html

Also the protests in Syria are becoming more violent with scores of protesters killed by government security forces but they do appear to be taking a toll on the government with several government officials resigning in protest over the government crackdown on protesters.

    *not_secure_link*english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2011/04/20114231492375311.html

And finally there is talk of the President of Yemen stepping down but I lost the link to that story.

I'm pretty sure the NATO boys took a direct shot at Gaddafi yesterday or the day before with a predator drone attack.

But I'm also wondering if they don't have a good profile on Gaddafi's real courage and this could be one way of getting him to give up and get out.

In the meantime though you're so right about the way things are going in Syria and I haven't heard of the president stepping down like the reports out of Yemen are claiming. I'm wondering just how bad things are going to get in Syria especially with their connection to Iran.

Speaking of which Bahrain named another Iranian diplomat as a persona non grata claiming he has been connected to a spy ring. I'm beginning just how far some of those diplomatic ties can be stretched before someone or something snaps in the middle east.

But its refreshing to see Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Syria and Iran actively opposing each other instead of getting other people to constantly agitate by proxy. I just don't know how that might turn out if open warfare happened to break out between all those nations.

No telling who all would jump in on which side if that happened.

I suspect its anyone's guess what's really happening in Syria. I've read reports that as many as 400 protesters have been killed.

But here's a story on so many alleged defections in the Syrian Military that some believe (or hope) there might be a military mutiny. Its probably wishful thinking but it is an interesting point to ponder.

    Mutiny in the Syrian army?
With increasing military defections, the Syrian regime's violent crackdown may have backfired, analyst says.

The protests in Yemen appear to be paying off with it now appearing the president will step down after all.

But I'm not sure what that means to the US. While it was not supposed to be public knowledge I know President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the US intelligence agencies had a very good relationship and a lot of cooperation.

Meanwhile in Libya Gaddafi has asked for another cease fire and protesters are still being killed in Syria.

Libyan leader's son Saif al-Arab killed in NATO strike

(Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi survived a NATO airstrike on Saturday night that killed his youngest son Saif al-Arab and three of his grandchildren, a Libyan government spokesman said.

Mussa Ibrahim said Saif al-Arab was a civilian and a student who had studied in Germany. He was 29 years old.
Libyan officials took journalists to the house, which had been hit by at least three missiles. The roof had completely caved in in some areas, leaving strings of reinforcing steel hanging down among chunks of concrete.
A table football machine stood outside in the garden of the house, which was in a wealthy residential area of Tripoli.

    Thanks for the update.

Its all over CNN right now but they are saying they have not been able to confirm this by anyone except Gaddafi's press conference. But I don't really doubt it one bit. What I do doubt is NATO's claims that they are not targeting Gaddafi.

Which I don't guess I really care if they are.

I'm not sure the story made this clear but CNN is reporting that Gaddafi and his wife were at the compound that was bombed (that's the word they keep using) but managed to escape unharmed.

All of this is again not confirmed by NATO or the White House (meaning President Obama).

This Don Lemmons on CNN keeps hammering away on the fact they have not heard anything from President Obama, the White House, or the US government.

No shit you idiot. I would not even open my mouth (if you can believe that) about anything were three kids got killed. I'd be on the phone, with my own personal aids en-route in the air to NATO command center asking some real hard questions about how that happened.

The one thing I find reassuring is how often people like you are proven wrong which definitely is a good indication of how accurate your predictions are.

I'll say this again. Actually I feel obligated to. Despite all the criticism he receives, most of it just hysterical bullshit in my opinion, I say with all honesty and confidence that Barack Obama is the most intelligent, effective, and hardest working president I've seen in my lifetime. And I've lived my life time in dog years.

And they obviously are doing so.

What amazes me is the fact that they knew he was there, and yet there was only one bomber or missile sent in to take him out. What the fuck goes through these people's heads when they come up with these assassination attempts? If I was a general who had this intelligence beforehand, I'd have dispatched a 15 plane bombing squad and reduced that house to ashes. Though, I'm assuming that they didn't know the children were there. NATO being the public perception hussies that they are, I can't see them ordering the hit with the knowledge that Saif's children were in the house.

And the media is portraying Saif as a student and diplomat now. He was those things, but he was also one of his fathers commanders in the initial stage of the war; ill equipped to be worth a damn as a commander, granted, but he still was responsible for lots of innocent deaths. I wish I could remember the name of the article that I found in March that documented those facts. It was really quite informative.

But if you'd sent in 15 planes you would have been caught red-handed assassinating the leader of a foriegn nation and that's supposed to be a big no-no. You'd also proven the entire UN-NATO no fly zone was for assassination purposes not humanitarian purposes as stated.

Now we all know none of that is the truth and killing Gaddafi is the quickest easiest way out of this mess and they damn sure will if they get a chance but they just can't get obviously caught doing it.

I also suspect Gaddafi might be better off dead than being overthrown and captured where I'm pretty sure him and anyone close to him is going to end being charged with war crimes.

Another possibility I have considered is that NATO is at the very least trying to scare the shit out of Gaddafi and might give him some escape route to get him out of Libya but that seems more remote all the time.

I guess I'll go ahead and answer this question since CS Natureboy has certainly proven himself to be a "birther" with a thread claiming President Obama's birth-certificate is faked.

And so the point of me asking CS nature that is because anyone so stupid and brainwashed to doubt President Obama's citizenship at this stage is bound to be wrong about everything else. Including what kind of President Barack Obama really is.

Here the best or worst, depending on how you look at it, indication that everyone is settling down to a long drawn out, bloody civil war. There are now international "coalitions" raising funds for the rebels. This could end up being another decade long daily struggle.

Coalition to create fund for Libya rebels
Countries involved in military campaign pledge money to provide food, medicine and supplies to opponents of Gaddafi.

    *not_secure_link*english.aljazeera.net/news/africa/2011/05/201155111319362768.html

And personally I don't believe a word of anything saying this money will be for medicine, food, humanitarian supplies, or in their term non-lethal aid. No matter what they claim the money is for in my experience its almost gets spent on weapons.
