I would have been all for this if there had also been some kind of provision to deeply limit the profits of insurance companies providing this coverage. They had us over a barrel to begin with and now they have access to your whole paycheck. Corperate America wins another victory in the war against the American people.

Until profit margins are restricted in the field of anything heath care related, the insurance companies and medical equipment providers and pharmasuitical manufacturers will only continue taking the American people to the cleaners. Many of my clients have already lost everything as a result of illness and they actualy had insurance to begin with. Now the insurance companies have an open ended ticket to rape you for everything you have left. And dont think for a second that the government will put any protections in place to keep it from happening to you. Any protections will soon be swept away.

There are only two ways to look at this decision.....

First Obama comes out and declares victory and reaffirms the fact that he is a LIAR and does not care about the middle class because he has now raised taxes. Remember he has said so many times that this law contains no new taxes well he cant say that now can he.


Second, and least likely due to egos, Obama comes out and says he was wrong that this law as it is written is crap I am sorry but will lead the effort to repeal this and get ALL leaders of congress together and fix this now.

Just one proud citzen and ex military memebers humble common sense opinion.

I can see your concerns but would point out not all is lost because now that the ACA has been upheld states will begin setting up cooperatives and those are designed to compete directly with insurance companies. And if that doesn't work we can insist on a public option insurance program or even single payer.

Also I've already noticed private health care insurers at least singing different tunes.

 

Actually there's only one way to look at this. Which is you do not make any sense at all and speaking of things that never happened.

Since I don't know all the ins and outs of this bill, one thing has me wondering.
If purchasing health care is mandatory, how does a person who works hard but make little money afford to buy health insurance? Millions would love to purchase health insurance right now even without a mandate but they simply don't have the money to pay for it.

How does this help the working Joe?

 

The average "working Joe" already has health insurance through his employer. So no change for him. And as far as those who can't afford either the fine or health care coverage there are exemptions.
