Note the date in this article and one can clearly see how propaganda can flip positive figures into a negative.
Here's Why US Oil & Gas Drilling Rigs Tally Has Dropped | Nasdaq
    JUN 7, 2021 7:38AM EDT
The count of rigs engaged in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the United States was 456 for the week through Jun 4compared with the prior-week figure of 457. Thus, the tally declined after increasing for five consecutive weeks. It seems that rather than pouring money solely into drilling activities, upstream firms are focusing more on cashflows, shareholder returns and lowering debt load. Notably, the current national rig count is, however, higher than the year-ago level of 284.

But what the heck, we need a picture for the despicables before they can understand.

And once again we see the phony hypocrisy of treasonous conservative/Republicans. First they scream their heads off that President Biden is still allowing the importation of Russian oil and then when he bans it they turn around and scream their heads off about rising prices.

When actually President Biden was pretty smart about it. He telegraphed the ban was coming days in advance so buyers reacted then. But now that President Biden has implemented the ban oil right now is trading about the same.

Biden announces ban on Russian energy imports

President Biden announced Tuesday that the U.S. will ban Russian oil, natural gas and coal imports as part of his administration’s response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

“The United States is targeting the main artery of Russia’s economy. We’re banning all imports of Russian oil and gas and energy,” Biden said in remarks from the Roosevelt Room on Tuesday morning.

“That means Russian oil will no longer be acceptable at U.S. ports and the American people will deal another blow to Putin’s war machine,” he added.

Biden signed an executive order banning Russian energy imports as well as new U.S. investment in Russia’s energy sector, the White House said in a fact sheet. The order will also prohibit Americans from “financing or enabling” foreign companies investing in Russian energy production, the White House said.

A source familiar with the plans confirmed to The Hill that Biden intended to announce the ban, which was first reported by Bloomberg, ahead of his remarks Tuesday.

The White House had been reticent to ban the imports as gas prices have soared, but there have been growing calls from members of both parties to ban Russian oil as punishment for Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

As calls from members of both parties to ban the imports grew, lawmakers introduced legislation last week banning U.S. imports of Russian oil and the measures gained bipartisan support.

And members of both parties have been pushing in recent days for energy policies they support, as Republicans have called for more U.S. drilling while Democrats have promoted more clean energy.

Biden, in his remarks on Tuesday, noted that the effort could increase costs in the U.S.

“This is a step that we’re taking to inflict further pain on Putin, but there will be costs as well here in the United States,” he said, noting that he would take steps to minimize the impact.

He reiterated previous remarks that such actions were part of the cost of defending freedom.

“I said I would level with the American people from the beginning, and when I first spoke to this I said defending freedom’s going to … cost us as well,” he said.

“Republicans and Democrats alike understand that. Republicans and Democrats alike have been clear that we must do this,” Biden added.

Polls have indicated the move has broad support. A Quinnipiac University poll out Monday found that 71 percent of Americans support a ban on Russian oil even if it meant there would be higher gas prices in the U.S.

The administration has been cognizant of the potential domestic impact as it has weighed such a move. U.S. gas prices are already approaching record highs and Republicans have sought to attack Biden over the rising prices of gasoline and other goods.

A senior administration official told reporters that the ban on new purchases of Russian energy would take effect immediately, but there will be a 45 day “wind down” period under which purchases that have already been made can be delivered.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky applauded Biden for “striking in the heart of Putin’s war machine and banning oil, gas and coal from U.S. market” and urged other countries to follow suit.

Tuesday’s action was not timed with identical moves by European countries, which are much more reliant on Russian energy than the U.S.

Still, the European Union on Tuesday did propose a plan to eliminate European reliance on Russian fossil fuels by 2030 given Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The European Commission said in a statement the proposal could reduce the EU demand for Russian gas by two-thirds by the end of 2022.

“We simply cannot rely on a supplier who explicitly threatens us,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a statement. “We need to act now to mitigate the impact of rising energy prices, diversify our gas supply for next winter and accelerate the clean energy transition.”

The United Kingdom also said it would work to phase out Russian oil imports by the end of the year.

“We remain united in our purpose to keep pressure mounting on Putin and his war machine,” Biden said in his announcement.

The White House has continued to put an emphasis on coordinating with European partners in its sanctions on Russia. Biden held a secure call with the leaders of France, the United Kingdom and Germany on Monday during which Russian energy was discussed.

Russian oil makes up a relatively small percentage of U.S. oil imports, which mostly come from Canada.

As of last year, the U.S. was importing nearly 700,000 barrels per day of oil from Russia, while it consumes about 20 million barrels daily.

Energy is a large part of the Russian economy. It makes up more than half of the country’s exports and was the U.S.’s greatest import from that country.

Biden's announcement was the latest action taken by the administration in response to Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, which began almost two weeks ago and has escalated as forces have closed in on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

Russia has been targeting civilian areas and faces growing accusations it is committing war crimes in Ukraine. The war has prompted a refugee crisis, with the United Nations saying Tuesday that more than 2 million people have fled Ukraine.

Biden has also sanctioned a growing list of Russian oligarchs and politicians, including Putin and some of his top aides, and Russian banks in coordination with European allies.

The Russian oil ban should have happened much sooner, and lets see can anyone explain the logic "telegraph your intentions sooner so prices increase sooner and no, once we do what we said they don't go down".
Is that despicable logic or stumbler logic?

Joe Biden's Response to Exploding Gas Prices Will Have You Punching Walls
    By Bonchie | Mar 08, 2022 2:00 PM ET

The last few days have been a whirlwind for normal Americans as gas and energy prices have skyrocketed. Some of that is due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Most of the price increases occurred prior to that point, though, with gas going up over a dollar per gallon during Joe Biden’s first year in office.

When gas prices go up, everything goes up. Grocery prices have exploded and you can bet the prices of non-perishable goods and services will be rising precipitously now as well.

Yet, instead of trying to help Americans, Biden is busy shifting the blame and refusing to take basic steps to mitigate their financial pain. On Tuesday, he attempted to blame Putin for the totality of the energy price increases, which is just an insulting bit of gaslighting.

    https://twitter.com/greg_price11/st...s-prices-will-have-you-punching-walls-n533228

Sorry, that dog isn’t going to hunt. Everyone reading this is more than three weeks old, which means we remember seeing gas go from $1.60 to $3.00 after Biden won the 2020 election (those are my local prices, but it’s been repeated in the same degree all over the country, even if the starting point was higher). Yes, Putin’s move to invade Ukraine has pushed prices even higher, but that still represents a fraction of the total increase Americans have absorbed with Biden in office. It is absolutely false to try to now frame this entire debacle as a result of Russian aggression.

But this is who Joe Biden is. He’s a coward who can never admit when he’s wrong, even when the writing is on the wall in black sharpie. He’d rather let the working class be crushed by his policies than even consider changing course. Case in point? During this same speech, instead of hearing the calls for more domestic energy production and the green-lighting of pipelines from Canada to increase supply, the president once again pushed Green New Deal “solutions” that are anything but.

    https://twitter.com/charliespiering...s-prices-will-have-you-punching-walls-n533228

This kind of thing makes me want to go punch a wall. Let’s put aside the fact that government investment programs always turn out to be wasteful boondoggles (and this one will be). Let’s even pretend that electric vehicles and winterizing homes will lower energy usage over the long term and save Americans money (they won’t because that ignores a host of other variables). What does any of that have to do with the here and now? You are talking decades before Americans would see any substantial benefit from the usage of tax credits and other investments to push green energy proposals.

Specifically, on the topic of electric vehicles, even if everyone had $60,000+ to go out and buy one right now, there aren’t enough of them to buy. The lead time on getting a new EV can be anymore from six months to multiple years right now. Further, even if you could provide EVs to most Americans somehow, most would have nowhere to charge them. How does a person who lives in an apartment charge their EV? Almost no one has a 220 outlet in their garage, and that’s if they are lucky enough to have a garage. Past that, commercial charging stations, which are rare, result in prices that rival gas prices, because again, the energy has to come from somewhere.

So Biden’s big solution to the gas price crisis is to tell middle-class Americans to go buy electric cars that they can’t get, that they can’t charge, and that cost so much that it’d take decades to realize the cost savings. Again, it’s enough to make you want to go punch a wall.

For a long time, I looked at Biden as an aloof, incompetent, doofus, and sure, he’s absolutely that. But his presidency has made clear that he’s also a vindictive, stubborn old man who would see Americans driven into abject poverty if it meant realizing his leftwing utopia. It’s disgusting to witness such a lack of empathy.

If US reached a deal with Venezuela on oil, would it have an impact on gas prices?

WASHINGTON — The United States is exploring a deal with Venezuela for oil amid soaring energy prices after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But that doesn’t mean Americans will see an immediate impact on gas prices at the pump, experts say. Even if President Joe Biden chooses to ease sanctions on its oil sector, Venezuela won’t be able to turn the spigots back on overnight. Biden announced on Tuesday that the United States would ban the import of all Russian oil and gas over its war in Ukraine. Last year, the United States imported roughly 675,000 barrels of Russian oil a day — the equivalent of ...

    Blah..blah...mother fuckin' blah.

What we have here is the hack fucks trying their damndest to compare rising prices on most everything, on something that is just out of reach of the politicians.

Just a mere 15 months ago, the Nation had steady and stable pricing, on much of everything, 8 months prior to that we had as a Nation a thriving economy, high employment, boundless opputunities for everyone that want an opportunity, producing more energy than we could use...

A very low immigration problem, not an ounce of chaos or turmoil with any foreign policy issue, the U.S. shaking hands with Rogue Nations...just a bunch of happy-happy-happy going on around the world.

Today...what we see is ....some poor bunch of hack fuck mother fuckers just...just almost like....flipped a switch on all that.

And all we hear is...''we dont want what was...we want what it is now...the chaos and turmoil is the result of a Trump Presidency''...well...they're right...it is results of a Trump Presidency.

The current theater of disarray is the result of a fore-gone era that the U.S. lead the World from in front....Socialist/Communist Nations are now leading the World, with the approval of a gang of Socialist/Communists actors.

Make no mistake, this is what they want, this is all engineered, the weekend visits to the Delaware home is where it all transpires....every time the Crime Boss ''goes home'' there is a sudden announcement made, that generally fucks the U.S. people some more.

They are doing all they can to make the U.S. more miserable by the day, they're thinking how can the U.S. people sleep at night knowing that other Nations are so poor they cant afford a black and white television or even running water..

There is no where else to go if the U.S. loses what it was intended to be....here we can always move to a different State within the U.S. borders for better opportunities if the State that we reside in is not affording us certain opportunities....There is no where else to go if the U.S. as a Nation loses what it was intended to be...

How Dems Helped Spike Gas Prices

Despite reassurances from the White House that it is doing nothing to discourage oil companies from opening new drill sites, President Joe Biden's allies in Congress just months ago pressured oil executives to decrease outputs because of climate change, raising questions about the Democratic Party's strategy to lower prices for consumers.

In late October, for example, the House Oversight and Reform Committee called in the CEOs of Exxon, BP, Shell, and Chevron to explain what steps they are taking to produce less oil and gas, with Rep. Hank Johnson (D., Ga.) alleging that "the world can't wait" any longer. At the time, gas prices were hovering around a 10-year high.

The hearing has gained new relevance as a global gas shortage has pushed prices to an all-time high. Prices are rising even more due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with no sign of falling after Biden's announcement that the United States will no longer accept Russian oil imports. Those facts have left Democrats scrambling for a solution before the November midterms as Republicans demand that the White House encourage domestic oil drilling operations.

The president said on Tuesday that his administration's policies are not "holding back domestic energy production," echoing comments from Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who said that "federal policies are not limiting the supplies of oil and gas" before mentioning the thousands of unused pre-approved oil and gas drilling leases.

"You can draw a direct line from how the Democrats marauded energy production yesterday to the unprecedented pain Americans are feeling at the pump today," said CounterPoint Strategies president Jim McCarthy, a policy adviser for leading energy companies.

Some Democrats, such as Rep. Ro Khanna (Calif.), have demanded that domestic oil companies dramatically curtail their domestic operations. At the same time, Khanna has called for the United States to end its dependency on oil imports from countries such as Russia.

In one exchange during the October hearing, Khanna pressed Shell president Gretchen Watkins on whether she agreed that "under the Paris agreement that … we need to have oil and gas production declining every year." After she answered that the company believes "that hydrocarbon demand needs to reduce if we're going to get to net zero [emissions] by 2050," Khanna demanded to know whether Shell will decrease its production by 2 percent each year, a figure initially offered by the company in 2019.

"This is what happens when left-wing Democrat fantasies meet reality. Khanna and other Democrats spent most of the fall trying to strangle the life out of oil and gas companies and are now feigning surprise and evading responsibility at the outcome," said McCarthy.

Khanna also demanded to know whether Chevron CEO Michael Wirth was embarrassed that his company has increased production while "the European counterparts are going down." When Wirth said that global demand has increased, Khanna asked for a commitment to help "bring the actual demand of oil production down."

Rep. Robin Kelly (D., Ill.) continued Khanna's line of questioning Watkins, asking, "Will Shell commit to reducing gas production as part of its emissions reductions plans?"

"In light of the invasion of Ukraine, Rep. Khanna called on President Biden to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to bring down the price of gas and supports oil companies increasing production at existing facilities in the short term," a Khanna spokeswoman told the Washington Free Beacon. "In the long term, he believes we need a moonshot to develop renewable energy sources to prevent similar situations from happening in the future and have a more diversified energy source."

Kelly's and Johnson's offices did not respond to requests for comment.

The average price for gasoline at the end of Biden's first week of office was $2.39 a gallon. Prices have now hit above $4. Although defenders of the president say the rising prices are forces outside the administration's control, as well as Russian president Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, Republicans say Biden's decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline and institute a moratorium on new gas leases is responsible.

Democrats scheduled a followup hearing with oil executives for Tuesday, March 8. That hearing was subsequently canceled last-minute, with no explanation given.

President Biden made a good call on the way he got around to banning Russian petroleum products. He eased into it allowing the markets to know its coming. Which spiked prices, But now that the ban is actually in place the markets have adjusted and the price of oil has fallen by about 12% at the moment and looks like it is still falling.

And part of that is the mere suggestion sanctions might be lifted on Venezuela.

Kay. Now, @stumbler , you just have to explain your logic.
So, Biden made sure the markets knew he was going to ban Russian Oil imports, and he did this intentionally so, you know, the market would raise the cost of gas.
And this is a good thing cause, now that he did ban Russian Oil, the market isn't going up. In fact, the cost of oil has dropped.

So, if Bidens advance warning that he was going to ban Russian Oil drove up prices,
And the actual ban drove down prices,

Why is Biden so smart telling the market he was going to ban Russian Oil?

I will show you something here.

Two Americans, including one member of the ‘CITGO6,’ released from prison in Venezuela
    https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/08/americas/citgo-6-prison-release-venezuela-intl-latam/index.html

That headline alone is enough to make the price of oil fall about 12% today because it looks like a sign the US might lift sanctions.

The oil market is milking the price gouging for all its worth. But they can't afford to get caught short on their inflated prices. So even the hint of increased supply has them running for the exists.

Biden Gets Confused Trying to Find His Way off the Stage

Joe Biden is supposed to be in charge, yet he doesn’t seem to understand what he’s even doing from moment to moment.

On Wednesday he pushed yet another claim that has no basis in reality – “a gallon of gas is down 14 percent today,” he declared.

Once again, Biden doesn’t even have any idea of the truth.

His team has been trying to sell us all kinds of things that aren’t true – from blaming Vladimir Putin for the rise in gas prices (which have been going up since the election, long before Putin’s invasion of Ukraine) to trying to spin inflation numbers that just keep going up and up.

The memo has gone out now to all the Democrats to call the rise in prices “Putin’s price hike” — as though Americans aren’t able to remember beyond the last couple of weeks.

Then White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tried to sell a bunch of malarkey about inflation during her briefing on Wednesday, that numbers were going down “month to month.”

Yet, CNBC’s Rick Santelli completely took apart Psaki with a little reality.

Their answer to the crushing inflation numbers has been to cheerlead even more spending, and to blame companies for price gouging, just like they are doing now with the rise in gas prices. Nothing is ever their fault, and they never have an answer for any of the issues–indeed, they’ve made the issues worse. You know that the number that’s going to come in later this week must be awful if – after months of being wrong about their predictions – they’re finally predicting it’s going to come in high.

But they are completely lost, both literally and figuratively. We keep saying that Biden’s condition is concerning, but it just keeps getting worse. Here’s Biden Wednesday, seemingly lost trying to find his way off the stage; he doesn’t even know where he’s going.

He looks like he’s looking for help or his handler, but none of the handlers seem to be on the spot, so he’s just left to wallow, confused and looking around. He finally finds his way to the stairs.

This is elder abuse, but none of his handlers seem to give a darn about it or the danger that this poses both to him and the country. This is what leaders around the world are seeing, and you wonder why you have bad actors like Putin and Xi making noises all around the world. I look at this and say: how are we ever going to make it through three more years with this guy? We’ve already seen how bad the first year has been, and it’s concerning that it’s likely to get even worse as he deteriorates.

Now this is something everyone can watch for themselves. Day before yesterday oil peaked at about $130 a barrel. And at least where I live overnight the price of gasoline jumped 25 cents per gallon. But today the price of oil fell about $20. So just watch and see how long it takes for the price of gas to come down.

Price of gas 3 days ago was $4.07. Today $3.87.
      Still gouged, thank you biden,

LOL, no president controls the office of gasoline, but you go right ahead and spout your nonsense...

Biden must not have gotten the memo then.
You know, cause biden released oil from the strategic reserves specifically to help hold gas prices down and only reluctantly sanctioned Russian Oil, because, as he said it, gas prices will go up as a result.

Bullshit! No president has anything to do with seeing prices. They may try to influence them, but they're still set by oil execs....

True. It was a running joke for all my 35 years in the oilfield, The price of oil jumps and the price of gas jumps the next day even though the gasoline delivered that day was refined from oil 90 days before at the lower prices. But when the price of oil falls it might take weeks to show up at the pump. And it goes a little deeper than that. Oil goes up the price of gasoline goes up. But then then price of oil goes back down the price of gasoline never goes down to what it was before.

So the question is why do we subsidize oil companies just to price gouge and rip us off.,

Apparently joe wanted prices to go up, its why he telegraphed his plan to ban Russian oil.
