This has probably been asked and answered in the past. This is really the first forum I've actually participated in so I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of it.

So my question is, why do some members create a profile and choose a name that appears to be female, but then list themselves as male and have their own pictures on it. Why pick a screename like "Kristi234ABC" if your actual name is Steve? Why have a female selfie as an avatar if you aren't a female. I dont understand why a male would fake being female on here either. But I understand even less when the profile picture/name looks female but the information is all male.

Am I the only one that doesn't get the reasoning behind it?

*Edit* And while I'm at it, why is it usually males that do that stuff. I don't think I've seen a lady do that on here.

 

There are plenty people on here faking to make it and it doesn't really work.
Many of the chicks get called men when they aren't which is slightly unfair because of it.

It's online not real life I can be who ever I want and no-one will know, I don't have to be the short fat guy who lives in his mom's basement, I can be tall and fit if I want or young and French. In one instance I think the person wants their avatar (and photos?) to indicate what they like/appreciate/are into/are looking for, and in the other I think they rather enjoy being mistaken for women and hope you won’t notice the male symbol.

That’s just supposition on my part; be fucked if I’ll ever understand why guys do the things they do.

It is funny when i first joined i just wanted my Avatar to kind of match my username. I did not really pay much attention to other peoples avatar. I only noticed them when i was interested in something someone posted. Then it still was really no big deal what their avatar was. But people take those things seriously. Also when something is posted in the wrong forum people really lose their shit!!! Hahaha..... but yes, lots of fakes!!! It is a given on the internet. If you try to figure most people out you will truly be more confused!!!! Lol

 

I guess you can always find delicious food in a dumpster. You just have to look really hard.
