How we love us some polls...hehehehehe.

    In more important news:

Rep. Stefanik GOP campaign holds significant lead over Democrat opponent

GOP congresswoman Elise Stefanik has continued to make waves in Congress. That’s according to a Wednesday press release from the New York representative’s campaign, which detailed her performance heading in to 2020.

Her campaign disclosed that Stefanik has raised more than $3.2 million in the last quarter of 2019. It also noted her significant lead over her Democrat challenger Tedra Cobb, who has raised roughly $2 million.

Meanwhile, the New York representative has also raised nearly $3.4 million in cash, which is more than she’s raised in any two-year election cycle. This spike follows recent impeachment hearings, where California Democrat Adam Schiff refused to let Stefanik question witnesses.

Stefanik also gained attention for her arguments during the impeachment inquiry by highlighting Democrats’ double standard when it came to investigating Hunter Biden’s conflicts of interest at a Ukrainian energy company.

“President Obama’s own State Department was so concerned about potential conflicts of interests from Hunter Biden’s role at Burisma that they raised it themselves while prepping this wonderful ambassador nominee before her confirmation, and yet our democratic colleagues and the chairman of this committee cry foul when we dare ask that same question that Obama State Department was so concerned about,”
Stefanik stated during the testimony of former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.

The exchange prompted backlash from Kellyanne Conway’s husband, George Conway, who attempted to convince voters to support Stefanik’s Democrat opponent. Meanwhile, President Trump applauded her testimony. After the hearings, he took to Twitter to congratulate her.

Well no articles of impeachment this week Pelosi just said. And as a hint one of the Democrats who was saying Pelosi should send the articles over clarified today and said after meeting with Pelosi if she sends the articles over some time in the next 2 or 3 weeks he's good with that.

Sounds like Pelosi is getting ready to send the articles of impeachment over some time next week. But from a couple things I have seen today that could he because she has been cutting some deals with some GOP Senators behind Moscow Mitch's back to allow witnesses.

And anyway the Democrats really made political hay holding them even this long. Lots more evidence and witnesses have come out since they impeached Trump. And they have kept the spotlight on Moscow Mitch's corruption like an ant under a magnifying glass.

McConnell Joins Hawley in Resolution to Throw Out Impeachment

Update: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tweeted Friday that McConnell had “showed his true colors” by joining Hawley’s resolution.

By joining a resolution to dismiss, Sen. McConnell showed his true colors. Americans have now seen what is at stake in a fair trial with witnesses & evidence, and new evidence has emerged. Every Senator will have to vote: is their loyalty is to the President or the Constitution?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell became the 13th cosponsor of Senator Josh Hawley’s resolution to update Senate rules and dismiss the “bogus impeachment” against President Trump if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not send over impeachment articles in 25 days.

Hawley, an outspoken critic of Democratic efforts over impeachment, was initially joined by ten other Republican senators in proposing the legislation on Monday, including Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Ted Cruz of Texas, and Rick Scott of Florida. On Tuesday, Rand Paul added his support and Kelly Loeffler signed on in her first act as a senator.

“It’s been 19 days. It could be 90 days. It could be 190 days,” Hawley said in a speech introducing the resolution on the Senate floor. “There is nothing that will stop the speaker from sitting on these articles.”

“If Americans are sick of this impeachment saga, this partisan circus, now? Just wait when we’re still sitting here in October or January of next year, or January of the year following, or who knows when? Without a trial. Without adjudication. Without any resolution.”

McConnell has grown increasingly confident in forcing Pelosi’s hand in recent days, after the Republican leadership whipped the 51 votes necessary to establish a trial without a resolution to negotiations with Democrats. McConnell is aiming to model the trial after that of former President Bill Clinton, while Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has demanded guarantees on witnesses.

On Thursday, McConnell issued an ultimatum to Pelosi, saying “this conversation is over” and that the Senate would move on and “get back to the people’s business” if the House continues to withhold the articles.

Politico later reported that McConnell told Republicans on Thursday that he expects the articles as soon as Friday, with an impeachment trial possibly beginning early next week.

Just another failed attempt from the butthurt leftists that has severely backfired once again.

As the scandalous leftists are trying to show the people that Trump is un fit to be a duly elected POTUS.....growing support for Trump is the only outcome that the leftists have accomplished.

      SIR could be right.

No matter, Pelosi has effectively dismissed it herself, what with her political games and propaganda.

This does not bode well for despicables.

So, the House takes their sweet-ass time (about a year) to finally advance it, coincidentally right after they finished their impeachment wank-fest, yet for some reason the Senate is supposed to jump into warp speed just cuz the House finally got off their asses?

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/usmca-...xico-canada-trade-agreement-today-2019-12-19/

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in remarks on the Senate floor last week the trade deal is a "major casualty of Speaker Pelosi's impeachment obsession."

"The speaker's 12 months of delay have made it literally impossible for the Senate to take up the agreement this year," he said last week, adding that a vote on the USMCA would have to come after an impeachment trial in the Senate.

Regardless of the charges and circumstances, it's the House's job to investigate as their part of the process.

Then the Senate holds the trial. Look at all the time she wasted holding onto the articles. That was time they could have spent doing their part instead of "hurry up and wait."

First Pelosi surprised most observers and myself when she announced on Friday that she would send the articles of impeachment next week. Most people agreed she probably would but let the suspense build over the weekend. So we had to wonder why she would do that.

And the hint came when just a short time later Sen Susan Collins came out publicly and said she was working with other GOP Senators to call witnesses.

That had all the hallmarks of a deal being struck.

Then Trump provided the next hint. The first thing Trump does is lie. And then bluster and bluff. Which is what he was doing with John Bolton. First Trump said he didn't have any information. And then said several times he didn't care if Bolton testified.

But then yesterday Trump suddenly goes on Fox and says if they call Bolton as a witness he will have to exercise executive privilege to block his testimony. And then today Trump is back to freaking out on twitter about Pelosi and impeachment again.

Which indicates to me Pelosi and Collins cut a deal on calling witnesses. And Moscow Mitch had to tell Trump he does not have enough votes to block them

And I could easily be wrong about that. I often am. But when I was word tracking yesterday that's where the trail led me.

    As we've heard before

What difference can it make now?

Assuming the worst for the impeachment charges, 20 deplorable senators aren't going to give Nancy and her despicable head hunters their victory.

Whats far more likely is a vote along party lines and a week of crowing tweets from Trump.

What would be nice for USA is if All the Dumbocrats that wasted 4yrs attacking Trump were booted out or at the least got in on a lesser percentage of votes than the last election thus scaring them into doing their job.

Trump doesn't need any Senator's votes to invoke Executive Privilege. A hundred votes against still wouldn't change a damned thing. Who decides the battle are 5 or more Supreme Court Justices.

McConnell says he has votes to start impeachment trial without accord on witnesses

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday he has the votes to start an impeachment trial even without an agreement on potential witnesses – once the chamber receives the articles from the House.

“We have the votes," McConnell told reporters.

But McConnell has maintained all along that he wants to model the impeachment trial for Trump after that of former President Bill Clinton, by dealing with potential witnesses after the trial begins.

And even as McConnell claims the votes to be able to proceed, he insists the chamber first needs to receive the articles of impeachment from the House.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been holding onto those charges ever since last month, hoping to extract favorable terms for a trial.
