    You can now get verified on forum.

    The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

    Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

    You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

    Has anyone ever started up with Dungeons and Dragons as adults? I got into a group for a few dozen games of AD&D and they were using the Forgotten Realms stuff. It was great for awhile since I havent played since I was maybe 10 years old.

      I began playing D&D in 1985 when I was 23 years old. I have been DMing games since 1991. I create my own realm based on a mashup of Original D&D, AD&D, and AD&D 2nd Ed. I used elements from Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms, as well as Shadowrun.

      I created a standardized Adventurers kit available in all of my Shops instead of having PC's flounder for equipment every time, as well as a magical component case for the same reason.

    I've been playing D&D since I was 10 years old back in the 80's...you had to all be in the same place to play with other people for a long time, so I never got into playing the game online.
    Still play to this day, but never online so my experiences are different.

      There is nothing better than stocking up on tons of unhealthy foods and gathering with a dozen or so people around your big dining room table for a weekend of gaming debauchery :D
      I would intentionally throw in some NSFW scenarios just for the hell of it when the party would be in certain towns.

      Indeed. I was usually stuck being the DM...I was good at it (big surprise lol), however I had more fun playing characters but rarely got to play them!

      Still good times though...even set up shop at a Denny's restaurant a few times. Moon's over My Hammy baby :p

      I know many DM's who think that way. At first, when I began DMing I did too. Until I realized that I not only get to DM and run the story, but I am Playing ALL the NPC's and I owned that shit. I'd drop into character and force my PC's to respond in character or their question would go unanswered.

      I get pretty creative playing all those different characters.
      Another thing I don't do, is I don't restrict in party fights. If you think there will never be conflict just because you are traveling together, you don't know how to play. :D

    I've not played since I was a teenager. I had an old D&D game plus I tried making my own game with my own characters, board, etc, using cheap materials. I can't even remember how to play this many years later.

      I'm still rebelling against all of the new changes made to the base system since Wizards of the Coast took over. I refuse to go to the new versions and new system of stats and rolls.

      I don't like the new d20 system (Everything is rolled on a d20. no percentiles, etc.
      No THAC0, (To Hit Armor Class Zero) It's all on a single d20 now.. and so much more it takes the fun out of it, and pushes players to play by what's written in the books, instead of encouraging creativity. The rules are now structured and if you try to change what's written it won't work right

    I have played pretty consistently since I was 16.

    It is mostly about getting together with a group of people you like and having a fun time.

    I would recommend giving it a try and finding a good group of people to play it with.

      I'm still looking for a group that can sit down for a 24-hour session that still understands and plays in 2nd ed. If you can't calculate Thac0, don't understand Armor classes from 10 to 0 then 0 to -10, and won't play unless you can play a Monster class, you can't sit at my table.
      I won't have any Tiefling, or Dragon PC's in my game. That's just a lazy player who wants a character they think the DM can't kill off.

    i started with a a group last year for a short time . a few girls and guys. I had to straighten things out cause they had the girls convinced there was an adult version of the game that was very sexual. I nipped that in the ass when i started. We had adult themed adventures and no sex play.

    Played for the last 7 years, wanted to since I was a kid but no groups around ( Smallish town ). Got into it enough that I heavily modified a couple of 8 person dining tables and put an old TV into them to use for maps, had laptop charging built in, mini and dice storage etc.

    I've played for about 20-25 years. Started with 2nd edition and found something I liked in each newer version, except for 4th.
    You can inject roleplaying into any of these systems. The rules are just the rules. The roleplaying is what takes place in between the rules.

    I used to have a 5e group. Covid killed it.
    Just like my Aasamar goblin-killing obsessed psycho ranger with a hankering for bugbear hind quarter meat, and an aversion to ever wearing armor.

    Pour one out for Kreggr Sharkiller. You...were very poorly thought out, and a pain to play after two sessions. I'm glad you are dead.
