A CHILD should not have sex.. A mature young adult, however, keeping the consequences in mind, is perfectly capable. Different people reach maturity at different ages.

 

Well I know 9yr olds having sex...I know 9yr olds having kids...how their capable of handling that I have no idea

But there really is no "appropriate" age to. It all depends on whether a person is physically and emotionally mature enough. Too young can really mess a person up. My first time was at 16 and I knew I was ready.

Absolutely right, ridiculous poll every circumstance is different, events, peer pressure, coercion, physiology, knowledge, hormones, love, opportunity. All these factors can juxtapose to make it happen. The importent thing is to be able to talk about it afterwards.

Personally, I don't think anyone should do it before they're 16, which works out well in England. Its the legal age.

I'm laughing how most say 16 so far when it seems almost all people on this site, at least the newer, fewer post members, boast that they had sex first when they were 13 or 14. Hypocritical? Perhaps.

Anyway, if I were to say a general age, I'd say 15 or 16 because by that time most should be mature, or at least educated enough to know how to make the proper decision. By that time, most people that i know at least, are mature enough to know the consequences and to make a partially sound judgment at least.

 

Well I definitely was 16 the first time and don't think children should have sex before then but it happens quite often. Either parents are slacking on their job or kids just want to get knocked up lol...of course most get abortions....ugh...

 

But all of these kids are written about in the sex stories on this site. Some are barely able to walk, and others are too naive to know what is happening.

So I figured it is more morally acceptable to include the younger ages, because it seems to be accepted for a young person to go and have these sexual adventures in at least the fictional aspect.

 

If only it stayed in the fictional aspect... =/

 

this thread is a loaded thread as if you say something someone else dont like then the shit will hit the fan as far as im concerned it is when the person "feels" ready for it as far as myself i had my first sex at 13 so to me whenever they feel ready per say no set age so i didn't do the poll

That's the whole idea. Getting an accurate idea of what people think an appropriate age says a lot about their personal experiences and general opinions regarding what is right and just.

 

Do the 9yr olds have sex with other 9yr olds or are they having sex with adults/older people? Do they want to have sex? Does a 9yr old even know what sex is properly? And as to your comment about them having kids, there may be one or two exceptions to the rule but they can't get pregnant before puberty which happens later in life for a reason.

 

Girls have been hitting puberty earlier and earlier, some as early as 9. There are some hormonal disorders that kick them into puberty even earlier.

 

Yea I hit puberty at 14. My little sister at 11. One of her friends did at 10.

 

There was this report I heard on the radio, BBC news. Mentioned hormonal regulating medications that prevent puberty from changing a person's body for those that feel they were born as the wrong gender. And also for those cases of premature pubescence.

So there is a solution to it, where applicable.

There are different ideas of the "correct" and "incorrect" ages that yes, do depend on mitigating factors. Experience, mental/emotional maturity, financial status, being just a few of them.

 

i can also add i knew of a girl, i was 14 or 15 at the time and she lived up the street from me at 7 she had b cup tits and by the time she was 8 and a half she was haveing periods, and according to her mom had hair growing between her legs and i felt sorry for her as all the kids in her class teased her relentlessly and as far as she was concerned i was one of her friends as our parents talked alot. i never did anything with her but we are still good friends and shes now 40 as of last week

 

I think it is hypocritical to say someone should or shouldn't have sex due to age. There are societies where girls as young as 11 and 12 are having children. And this is viewed as the norm. Just as people have to hear your opinions, YOU have to listen to the alternative side of the coin.

There are people that believe differently than you, and you will accept that.
