I don't know if anyone else will get a kick out of this, but John Stewart does another fine job of hilariously exposing Fox News "fair and balanced" claims.

It just might fill the gap between now and Saturday Night Live.

Jon Stewart always puts the lovely humorous spin to his and his audiences liking, but you have to admit,,,you do want to see what is under her clothing.

 

Yeah, i'm from a republican state originally. They've fooled a huge portion of the country into thinking that what they provide are "news" and "facts."

Don't misunderstand me though, all mainstream news is bad, just fox is slightly worse. They peddle doom and gloom to bring in the viewers and once they've got them locked they push their party line. I haven't read a mainstream political article from one of the large news outlets in years. It's sad to me that people see that stuff and don't bother to fact check the stories.

Some of the "experts" they interview on the news (especially for politics) are laughable. For example there was one on fox during the elections last year that I saw when I was at a friends house. I had suspected something was off kilter and looked him up. He was a "dr." and preacher who literally gave himself his own doctorate from the school that his church ran. He was discussing Obama's alledged lack of qaulifications and experience for presidency. wait wut?

Like I said, don't get me wrong, i'm not bashing fox news only, just one of the more laughable examples off the top of my head.

I'm not kidding at all, it's a fact that mainstream political coverage is garbage. Even those jokers don't believe their fair about things, they just want to get people to believe what they believe. I can't speak for what's in the link though. The huffington post is full of shit most of the time also.

If it were'nt for FAUX "news" she would have died into irrelevent nothingness where she belongs on November fourth after she cost Mc Caine from winning. Actually, the National Enquirer is (was?) in the running this year for breaking the John Edwards story.

 

Without people like John Edwards, where would they be?

 

The Daily Show will make fun of any news. It's just they don't have to put in much effort when it comes to FOX.

 

I've actually watched the clip a couple more times this morning. It's definitely funnier than anything I saw on Saturday Night Live last night.

But its actually more than just a funny skit. It clearly exposed the Fox brainwashing machine, complete with the irrational, illogical, and false assertions, as well as showing once again how Fox and its cast of characters will reverse themselves depending only on the circumstances.

In the real world any "news" personality that gets caught directly contradicting themselves like Megyn Kelly did, is finished in the news business. But, that form of directly contradicting themselves, is nearly universal at Fox.

How any self respecting person can put up with being made a fool of like that is beyond me.

 

I think the best commentary on modern journalism occurred when the NE was nominated for the Pulitzer for investigative journalism. Not knocking NE at all, I'm sure they did a fine job - but MAN - the rest of them must have done a lousy job to push the NE to the top of the heap.

 

Actually the National Enquirer was not "nominated" for a Pulitzer Prize. The real deal is the National Enquirer entered themselves in the contest, for breaking the John Edwards story. They were first denied and then later allowed to enter.

The only possible indictment of the mainstream press is they did not aggressively follow the story of Edwards affair, and actually bought some of his denials.

But actually I'm in favor of that. I personally don't think its anyone else's business who a politician is fucking until they start fucking the public.

The National Enquirer announced their intention to submit their John Edwards coverage for nomination. Sig Gissler pre-emptively declared they were ineligible because of technicalities concerning the National Enquirer. A general uproar ensued, Gissler retracted and the submission was accepted. Henceforth, the National Enquirer was nominated. Like most professional awards, you, or someone else, has to submit your work for consideration to become nominated. Obviously - this is nothing new to you, considering your vast journalistic experience, you're probably intimately familiar with the Pulitzer process. So - what's your point anyways? Media's great? You don't care who pols screw? Thank you for sharing.
