News media attacks on Trump are because of two things. Really simple.
Just like most things it comes down to money and power.
The only thing that keeps the news media alive is their continued attack on Trump.
Without that they would have to print the truth about the democratic party.
If they chose to do that they will lose their customers and cause even a more downward slide of the democratic party.
They would lose the little power they have and lose any chance of making money.

CNN is little different from any other news service in how they operate and what motivates them.
Fox, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS et al.

It used to be that we could rely on the media to at least pretend to be objective and only run stories that could be verified. You know, had some basis in fact. At least a little basis in fact.

What this "expose" shows is that ratings and money trump (pun intended) reporting. It's about CNN, and timely given their screw up recently, but it applies to every news media; they have sold their professional souls for money and ratings.

Oh, and that butt hurt arrogant liberals are really in froth mode today.

But the public, in the end, is the looser.

 

That's because the average American viewer has a short attention span, wants the conclusion drawn for them and prefers tabloid-esq headlines to something more relevant. Take this headline on Fox today:

They cater to their audience. Other than local news and the weekly nightly news, most "news" is actually opinion fodder. O'Reiley, Maddow, Hannity, O'Donnell, etc - they are opinion/editorial shows that people take for fact. They are anything but fact. There might be truth in the basics of the story they present but rarely is something truly examined with a critical eye. There's a one sided presentation that usually is full of omissions and it's presented as "the story" when it's not a story, it's propoganda at best and tabloid fodder at worst.

CNN fucked up with the associate story. CNN also acted and did something about it. That's more than Fox did with the DNC staffer conspiracy, the birther conspiracy, the Benghazi conspiracy, etc. But national journalistic standards declined with the rise of the Internet. So did US attention spans. Anyone can have an opinion and because of the Internet, anyone can share that opinion. What's been the big change is how full of shit some of these stories can get, especially when they originate on-line from actual "fake news" outlets (Brietbart is a great example but even HuffPost is not a news aggregator, it's an opinion blog or more appropriately a lot of them). People also choose to live in echo chambers which is the biggest problem of them all. If they don't agree with it, they won't listen to it. Doesn't matter how logical the explanation is, it confronts one's bias and thus it's not actually news. And that isn't being fixed anytime soon.

I despise Fox (and for the record, no I do not watch MSNBC or CNN) but despite that, I choose to challenge my cognitive bias and read there first. I'll read on NBCNews.com or CNN.com as well but ultimately I'll end up with the raw AP and Reuters feeds instead as that balance. I try to avoid hardcore partisan sites like Brietbart, HuffPost, C(unts)hicks on the Right, anything "patriot" or "conservative", Democratic Underground, Daily KOS, etc. Yes, I'll dip my toes in their waters to see what nonsense is bubbling up but they are the real fake news. Sadly, most of the mainstream outlets, instead of standing firm, have lowered themselves to those standards and while I personally feel they have more integrity, at least in the non-cable outlet formats (such as the national NBC, CBS, ABC broadcasts) than the openly partisan sites, they still lead with click bait and fail and true investigative and hard hitting journalism at times.

 

They get the lefties into a frenzy into hating trump, who will watch religiously anything negative they say about him, and then gather traffic through the mass hysteria on social media.
They get the conservatives into a frenzy into hating them, who will then hate watch them religiously, and bash them on social media, whereby even more people see their stuff.
The truth does not matter.

The tactic is to maximise ratings, that's what the advertisers will pay them for.

 

It doesn't actually matter today.

Back in November '16... the media lost.

Back in Novemeber '16... the federal fucking government lost.

Back in November '16, the people took back the country.

That is what the media and the federal fucking government is actually in a frenzied roar about....nothing more...nothing less.

 

How exactly did "the people took back the country"? Trump got 46.1% of the vote. Hillary got 48.2%. Neither candidate got a majority of the votes. End of story. Nobody took anything back. We had 2 terrible choices and the authoritarian strongman won over the centrist-turned-liberal. Trump has done very little to date to actually help "Americans". He has repeatedly lied, he has tarnished the office of the President much worse than W Bush, Obama or Clinton ever could have, he has no grasp of policy, he lashes out like a petulant toddler, he gives a consistently mixed message (which is the only consistent thing about it), he has reneged on multiple of his campaign promises, etc.

I didn't vote for Clinton or Trump. So stop ahead of time with the "liberal" label that you'll automagically want to apply to anyone who doesn't like Trump. I'm an old school (as much as a 20-something can be) GOPer, as in pre 1994 GOPer. When social conservatism took over the GOP with the "Contract With America" during the 94 mid-terms, that destroyed the GOP as a rational body capable of governance. It wasn't until W Bush's 2nd term that the Democrats lurched to the far left (or began, it really happened with Obama's 2nd term).

The people didn't take anything back. They got duped by a con artist who "speaks to their level" which says sadly a lot about the average American voter.

 

The popular vote in the U.S. is totally irrelevant, the popular vote means nothing, has never meant anything, and will never mean anything.

It was never a ''national election'', it was..is... and will always be a 50 State based election.

Your resentment for the U.S.C. and your resentment for the individual , and your resentment for States Rights is well noted.

"Resentment" is laughable at best but please feel free to jump to conclusions. The point is Trump was a very unpopular choice and remains very much so and has flipped on many of his campaign promises already. He's not going to "Make America Great Again" because he never had any intention to in the first place. He has a dystopian vision for the world, if one at all. Obama was an amateur when he took office. Trump makes him look like a consummate professional.

And this has absolutely zero to do with states rights. Nothing in this conversation is has any bearing whatsoever to states rights. President Donald Trump’s administration is deporting so many MS-13 gang members that officials in Central America have recently held emergency meetings to address the issue.

According to a Washington Post report, officials in El Salvador are growing increasingly worried over the number of MS-13 gang members returning from the U.S. They worry that a large increase of violent gang members in the streets could intensify El Salvador’s established problem with violent crime.

Citing Salvadorian government statistics, the Post reports that nearly 400 gang members have been deported to El Salvador in the first five months of Trump’s administration, compared to just 534 last year under former President Barack Obama.

In response, Salvadorian politicians have proposed new legislation to monitor and track the returning gang members.

“This clearly affects El Salvador. We already have a climate of violence in the country that we are combating,” Héctor Antonio Rodríguez, director of El Salvador’s immigration agency, told the Post.

“If gang members return, of course, this worries us,” he said.

Nayib Bukele, mayor of El Salvador’s capital city of San Salvador, expressed his concern to the Post that his city will feel the effects of the returning gang members over the coming months.

“Probably we won’t feel the symptoms today or tomorrow or the next week. But probably in six months or a year, we’ll be feeling the symptoms of what these deportations are causing now,” Bukele said.

To deal with the influx of returning gang members, the legislation proposed by Salvadorian politicians would require deportees with no criminal warrants to check in with police once a month.

It would also establish “internment centers” to serve as “halfway houses” for returning gang members to integrate them back into Salvadorian society.

MS-13, or Mara Salvatrucha, is a street gang comprised of mostly Salvadorians, Guatemalans and Hondurans founded in Los Angeles in the 1980s. The gang’s membership is more than 50,000, including thousands in the U.S. The gang participates in many different activities commonly associated with organized crime, including drug trafficking and murder, and is allied with many of Mexico’s most notorious drug cartels, such as the Sinaloa Cartel and Gulf Cartel.

Trump and his Justice Department, under the leadership of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, have vowed to crack down on criminal undocumented immigrants, especially gang members associated with MS-13.

Sessions warned last month that his agency is “coming after” the violent gang members.

“The MS-13 motto is kill, rape and control,” Sessions said. “I have a message to the gangs that are targeting our young people: We are targeting you. We are coming after you.”

Trump is very hard for some people to understand. Usually these people have no thought of learning about him, his beliefs, what he has done, or anything concerning Trump.
They let the news media tell them what to think. That has worked very well in the past when we had life time politicians for president.
Over the years people saw what the life long politicians were doing to our country. They noticed who was benefiting the most from the life long politicians.
That would be the life long politicians themselves. It took a while but in the last 8 years we saw many more come over to the truth.
During the last presidential election we had more than enough life long politicians to chose from.
Well, really in the democratic party there was no choice. In the republican party there were many choices.
The people chose a person who had never been a politician. By a wide margin. It was never even close.
The people then had a choice of another life long politician and Trump. That the democratic choice was also one of the biggest crooks in the U.S. made the choice much easier.
The people chose Trump. With what Trump has done already, even with a news media that has tried every way they possible can to discredit, he will be the choice in the next election also.
