Truthful 1: you and I have similar experiences. I too left school (when I was almost 16) and went off to see "stuff". Saw a lot of "stuff" over the last 65 years (just shy of 80 years old). One thing I saw all over the world, men have too much power. Light skinned men have even more power. The US is, in my opinion, the most racist country in the world. Many people classify good and bad based on genes (born to the wrong caste or tribe). It seems to me, we in the US classify good and bad based on color. I sat in a group of mental patients and was astounded to hear these poor bastards (I am one of the poor bastards) bad mouthing group members based on race and ethnicity. Is it really easier to be a Hispanic or black who wants to commit suicide? Fuck no! When I cut my skin it is not of color it is simply my skin. Being a white male with a poor background I was able to get most of the jobs I held because #1 I am white #2 I am a smart white male #3 I am not of color. Those of you who know little of how it is in the real world open your minds and talk with those who have been there, those who agreed women should be paid less and passed over for promotions because they were "slits". Those who agreed "colored" people should never be hired because "they all are lazy and stupid. Those who fought against desegregation because mixing the races would result in, among other things, black "bastards" raping all the white women. I sat in the meetings were many of these opinions were voiced and in some where they were treated as words from a Christian bible. White is the color of privilege in the US. Add to white, "Male", and you have a false god. Go further and add money to the white male and you have a real US god. Want some names?
