  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Do you have any uplifting stories or examples of kindness? Maybe something you did or something someone did for you?

Long time ago I had a customer that was outside company warranty. I complained to management and VP about issue as customer was upset. Called customer saying I’d be sending her product for free and she almost cried.

Gave out KC Chiefs flags at recent events and got a lot of hugs for my effort.

Gave my brother a place to stay when he was going through some hard times.

I do something kind every day by not making my absolutely moronic coworkers cry when they ask or do something stupid?

I volunteer with a charity in my area that feeds the hungry, and at every single meal we do, at least one person who came to eat comes up to me afterward and asks if they can help out. These are people that have nothing. But they still want to give. It just makes me emotional every time it happens.

Gave away two pickleball racquets and ball to a woman I met at meetup event.

Donated 25 dollars for a woman that passed easy at parade in town during a time I’m losing my job.

When I was younger, like 19 20, there was this shelter for children. I really don’t know if it was a foster home or not. The name of the shelter was, Home For Little Wonders. I would buy some toys for boys and girls and drop them off for Christmas presents. It was something I looked forward too and it made my Christmas more special

I remember when I was like 12 or 13 there was this old man in my neighborhood who was homeless. He would share stories with my friends and I about his life. The guy was really nice. I’d go home and ask my mom if she could make me a sandwich, because I was hungry. Then I’d bring the sandwich down to the park and give it to the old man. My mom caught on to what I was doing, but she still made those sandwiches for me. I wonder what ever happened to that old man

I’d stop off before work at Dunkin Donuts and grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. There was this guy who was there every day faithfully with a cup in his hand opening the door greeting everyone. I never put a penny in his cup. I would put a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee in his hand when I came out. I wanted to make sure he was eating. That’s just a few stories

It’s all about the little acts of kindness every day. It doesn’t have to be saving orphans from a fire. Just taking care of people is everything.

    Alright, in the spirit of even Jack contributing nice stories;

I'm the person that if I find out you don't have lunch at work and don't have a way to get it, I'll either get you something when I go or I'll order it if I've already gone. I've gotten a coworker shoes because he had holes so bad his pinky toes were coming out both and his toe on one. I don't tell anyone else, I just quietly keep an eye on that person until they make it a point to tell me they're okay. That balances out my karma in my opinion.

I do more good than I tell people, but no one would believe it anyway unless they got passed the rough exterior.

I contribute to meaningful threads, and this happens to be one. There’s two sides to everyone. You just have to look around and open your eyes

I have a friend of 40 years. We worked together for 10 of those years. He wore a cowboy hat to work and wore his two Bronze Stars from the army on the front of his hat everyday. He took a lot of shit for it in the days before 'Thank you for your service' became fashionable. Well, when we both retired we were going to ride in the Rolling Thunder parade in DC, and I told him to put his Bronze Stars back on his hat. "Lost 'em, got tired of listening to people's bullshit." Now this guy is my hero, while I was working in a hospital he was out there taking incoming. I wasn't going to let him ride in that parade without those decorations. So I called every place I could find to replace them. Nothing. I called the final vendor and he asked what I needed them for so I told him the story. "I'm going to send you those two medals for you friend for free, and couple gifts for you." I couldn't believe my luck, and the guy sent them just like he said. They arrived two days before we left. I waited till after riding in the parade to the Washington Monument to give them to him. He keeps them locked up now. I think that was a good deed.

When I see people doing kindness to others, I mentally refer to them as “Carl or Carla”, and see them as the opposite of “Karen’s”.
Over the years, I have seen far more “Carla’s”, than “Karen’s”. In my opinion, people in general are naturally kind towards others. We have to be trained to be indifferent or uncaring.
My late, and former, father-in-law was the shining example of a pure hearted human being. At his funeral, hundreds gave testimony to his unheralded acts of kindness, it was incredibly moving. Now, he would have been canonized if he only could have gotten his wife onto the same page.
My wife and I, share the mindset of doing what’s right for those in need, no recognition is required.

I love you Joe, may you rest in peace, knowing that you did what was needed to be done.
