Former President Donald Trump defended North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un late Tuesday night while seeming to pan a U.S.-South Korea joint military exercise, which occurred a day after the communist state fired a test missile that landed between the Korean peninsula and Japan.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump boasted about his amicable relationship with the tyrant, with whom he once said he “fell in love.”


“Kim Jung Un of North Korea, who I got to know and got along with very well during my years as President, is not happy with the U.S. and South Korea doing big training and air exercises together,” Trump wrote. “He feels threatened. Even I would constantly complain that South Korea pays us very little to do these extremely expensive and provocative drills. It’s really ridiculous. We have 35,000 in jeopardy soldiers there, I had a deal for full payment to us, $Billions, and Biden gave it away. Such a shame!!!”



During his presidency in 2018, Trump bragged he had a “great relationship” with Kim.


“I was really being tough and so was he,” Trump told rally-goers in West Virginia, referring to a summit he had with the autocrat earlier that year in Singapore. “And we’d go back and forth, and then we fell in love, ok? No, really. He wrote beautiful letters, and they’re great letters. We fell in love.”

Kim has perpetrated innumerable human rights violations, as well as murderous purges of members of his government.

But he did allegedly fall in love with Trump, so he’s got that going for him should Trump again win the presidency.

And we see yet again the despicable obsession with Trump's sexual life, his bodily functions, and his every move.

Why is that? Why can't they just criticize Trump like normal people?
Why do they have to claim he "slobbered all over him" and "sucked Putin's dick" and "took it in the ass"?

You could make a brief statement about Trump's admiration of Putin, as demonstrated by public statements, could never pose a threat to the security of the United States and people who don't agree are just big meanies.

I've seen a lot on this forum, but I never thought I would see someone dissing Trigger. The noble Trigger was a working horse. He showed up on time every day, knew his lines and never missed his mark. One can't really ask for more from a horse.

 

Trigger was a show horse. Not something you can get 20 miles out of. Just a piece of the franchise that kept paying. When Trigger died Roy had him stuffed so he could keep main money off him.

DeSantis Scorches Trump for Sending ‘Congratulations’ to Kim Jong Un: A ‘Murderous Dictator’ Who Just Imprisoned ‘An Infant’ for Life

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis upped his intensity against Donald Trump by slamming the former president for congratulating North Korea’s “murderous dictator” Kim Jong Un.

Fox News’ Rich Edson and Paul Steinhauser encountered DeSantis as he was in Iowa to kick his 2024 presidential campaign into full gear. Asked what he thought of Trump congratulating Kim over North Korea’s appointment to the World Health Organization’s executive board, DeSantis said “I was surprised to see that.”

He went on:


I think, one, Kim Jong Un is a murderous dictator. They just imprisoned for life a family, including an infant, which is just outrageous. And then, the World Health Organization is a bankrupt organization. Like, Kim Jong Un is bad, but then joining that? We need to be getting out of that and rejecting the WHO lockdown treaty, and not congratulating about being involved in the WHO.

Trump’s latest fawning for Kim came in light of the news that Dr. Jong Min Pak of the North Korean Ministry of Public Health will join the WHO’s executive board with a term set to last until 2026. Trump circulated an article that criticized the WHO over the appointment because of North Korea’s numerous human rights abuses under the leadership of Kim’s family. Instead of acknowledging that, however, the ex-president posted “Congratulations to Kim Jung (sic) Un!”

Trump’s warm words for Kim were also rejected by his former vice president and upcoming 2024 rival Mike Pence, who told reporters “This is a time when we ought to make it clear to the world that we stand for freedom, and we stand with those who stand for freedom.” Nikki Haley, another of Trump’s 2024 competitors, also told Fox News “You don’t congratulate a thug. I mean, let’s keep in mind this. This thug has threatened America. It’s threatened our allies over and over again. This is not something to play with. He’s a terrible individual. He’s terrible to his people. He’s terrible to our allies in the world. And I don’t think he deserves congratulations.”

Pence Slams Trump Praising Dictators Kim Jong Un and Putin: We Ought to Be Clear We Stand for Freedom

Former VP and presumed 2024 presidential candidate Mike Pence took a hard swing at Donald Trump in Iowa on Saturday over the ex-president’s recent congratulatory fawning over brutal dictator of North Korea Kim Jong Un, as well Trump’s persistent Vladimir Putin praise.

Republicans running for president and not running for president alike gathered in Iowa for the annual Roast and Ride fundraiser, put on by supporters of Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, who hosts the event.

Pence made a style splash with a leather vest earlier in the day and was the only speaker besides Ernst to actually get on a Harley and ride. He later took the stage alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, Larry Elder, Sen. Tim Scott — who also made a fashion statement — and other Republicans to speak to Iowa Republicans in the critical primary state.


Fox News reporters Rich Edson and Paul Steinhauser caught up with the former VP at the event and asked him about Trump’s Truth Social post giving props to Kim Jong Un for North Korea being selected for the World Health Organization’s executive board.

“Look, whether it’s my former running mate or anyone else, no one should be praising the dictator in North Korea,” said Pence. “Or praising the leader of Russia who has launched an unprovoked war of aggression in Ukraine.”

Pence then made it clear that praising such leaders, as Trump did, is contrary to standing for a core American value.

“This is a time when we ought to make it clear to the world that we stand for freedom, and we stand with those who stand for freedom,” he said.

Trump's national security adviser thinks Kim Jong Un's 'love letters' to Trump were fake

Donald Trump's former national security advisor, John Bolton, told CNN that watching the former president over the years, it became evident that he was in over his head when it came to international affairs, particularly with dictators like Kim Jong Un.

He began by discussing the Chinese plans for flying close to a U.S. jet and a ship sailing close to a U.S. Navy destroyer. According to Bolton, it's China trying to intimidate the United States and the Taiwanese government.

"These incidents, as you reported, indicated both on the sea and in the air, are part of a larger Chinese project," said Bolton. "I think they're trying to warn the United States about keeping its commitments to Taiwan supplying it with weapons and the like. We saw a similar speech by the Chinese defense minister at the Shangri-La conference."

He called for a "strategic response" that would show the U.S.'s might. The U.S. military currently invests ten times more resources than China.

CNN's Jim Acosta asked about North Korea, saying he assumed Bolton saw Trump's recent praise of dictator Kim Jong Un after the country was accepted onto the board of the World Health Organization.

"Well, your guess is as good as mine," Bolton said about why Trump might be giving a nod to Kim. "I have tweeted about this and said this is one more piece of evidence why Donald Trump is not fit to be president. This is no joking matter. Kim Jong Un is a cruel dictator. His people are among the most impoverished in the world and building missiles to hit the United States and intimidate his regional neighbors. This is not something you pal around with. It just shows Trump has no real understanding of the depth of the threat that Kim Jong Un poses, and it is why four more years of Trump in control of foreign policy would be extraordinarily dangerous for the United States."

Acosta remembered the summer in Singapore, where Trump was never able to secure a nuclear treaty, despite being the first president to set foot in North Korea. He asked Bolton about the strange friendship between the two men.

"Well, we saw warning signs in Trump's reaction to these letters that Kim sent him before the Singapore summit and then after," recalled Bolton. "And now there is no doubt in my mind, these letters were written by some community party hack in the prop of the North Korea Workers Party, but they were filled with phrases like 'your excellency,' and he thought there were love letters. I shook my head. I don't think he understands what he's up against when he faces the hard men of contemporary international affairs. Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping — he just doesn't know what room he's in."
