I have one I use regularly

 

Rotary dial phones. Like vinyl records, I’m surprised that even worked.

Can you even dial out on a rotary phone anymore?

 

Falstaff, Jax, Pearl and Schlitz beers. If any are still around I don't see them anymore.

I use a non-volatile, stable and easy to use ANALOG tool to keep track of things like phone numbers and passwords... it is an ancient 20th century technology... called.... a Rolodex.

I still have a couple similar
(about 30 inches tall


and milk "Billy cans" to take milk home
they also had milk ladles
to both get milk or cream out , into a jug or billy
and to measure for a sale

 

Chemistry sets that had enough chemicals to actually have fun with.

Milk and cream were collect by any means available , boats , horse drawn wagons included.
One of the most famous "cream runs" was up North in the Bay of Islands ,
where Miss Brest , 42' by 11'
was purpose built for it in 1924 -26 , did so for decades.

and later was converted to a fishing boat ,
which was brought down here for a while ,
where I ran/skippered her.
(note the amphibian , Grumman Widgeon , behind her , from Tourist Air Travel , of Auckland , which also often served us on the farm .
That is an early picture of one , because she still has the underpowered old verticals engines , soon converted to more powerful horizontal models , about late 60s , as per below)


Later she was converted to a private cruiser , as she still is now

When I was a kid the trash collectors rode on the back of the truck, jumping off to pour metal cans into the back of the truck. Now a grabber thing picks up the cans. Probably much safer but where there were three with jobs now only one.

 

I got a phone book delivered the other day.

I looked in it, and sure enough, there were people’s names and addresses and phone numbers in it. Blew my mind.
