Lots of state reporting record hospitalizations despite what shooter says!

Global report: seven US states report record Covid-19 hospitalisations
Dr Anthony Fauci warns of ‘disturbing surge’ in cases; China gets approval for human trial of vaccine; first death in Australia for a month

Seven US states have reported their highest coronavirus patient admissions in the pandemic so far, as cases surge in the US following the easing of restrictions.

Arizona, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas –which also confirmed a record daily case increase on Tuesday – each admitted record numbers of infected people to hospital, the Washington Post reported.

California saw record infections, too, with more than 5,000 in a single day for the first time, as Arizona, Nevada and Missouri also reported record case increases.

In Florida, Homestead hospital warned that its intensive care unit was at capacity, NBC reported. Florida confirmed 3,200 new cases on Tuesday, which marked the sixth day of more than 25,000 cases.

You think the hand sanitizer is poor quality?
Take a look at most of the masks worn by people who really think they are making it safer by wearing them.

Yes lots of places are recording increases in cases if one can trust the data but no new threats of lockdowns because governments learned that tax revenue is too aversely affected by this so they caved on what you virus obsessives view as a public health crisis!!

And no one would dare shut down the Black Lives Matter protests even in the complete absence of social distancing!!

Fuck all this nonsense about public health concerns. Government wants it’s cash and is terrified of pissing off the wrong demographic!

Who here dares to tell the BLM movement that in the shadow of this pandemic this is the wrong time to be protesting in public?

    No one. Not PC!

To the virus nuts I say you can’t have your cake and eat it too!

A handful of black men have died by the hands of the police this year. About 500 thousand have died of c-19 this year.

Add twice as many who have died of HIV.Add 5 million who have died of starvation because the world doesn’t give a shit in the full attention given to c-19.

But you think those lives DON’T matter!

    Be ashamed!

    1. msman
Many people will try not to notice the black lives matter crowds.
They know the virus is racist. It would seem like a huge crowd of black people would be more likely to infect people than any other group.

There is no social distancing and very few are even wearing masks while also screaming. Sounds like a recipe for contagion to me. This is definitely a challenge of competing political interests within the same political agenda.

This is a repost of an imbellic comment you made earlier!

If you repeat an opinion then it remains an opinion!

If the 5 million you assert have died of starvation this year due to covid-19, then what was the cause of the 5 million who died of starvation last year when there was no covid-19?

Despite shitter's lying assertion that there will be no ICU bed shortage in the states in the US that are peaking at the moment like Florida, Texas and Arizona. It would appear that the only drug treatment proven to reduce the death rates of patients receiving oxygen or in ICU beds or even on ventilators, the steroid dexamethazone is now experiencing record demand!

If you couple this with the fact that the proportion of tests returning positive in these states is now over 25% then you have the makings of a healthcare disaster!

U.S. demand outstripping supply of steroid treatment for COVID

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-of-steroid-treatment-for-covid-idUSKBN23W1IN

So I suppose you can chose to believe @shootersa that this is just a mild flu and there will be no ICU bed crisis or you can take measures and protect yourselves!

Here in Holland they are already preparing for a second wave in October/November......better safe than sorry!

Aw, the dutch dipshit spews a record number of lies in one post and hopes no one will take note.

      Fail.

Lets start with you finding the post where Shooter said there would be no shortage of ICU beds in the US.

Then we can have the Dutch dipshit find the post where Shooter said there will be no ICU bed crisis.

@thinskin is supposed to be a highly educated scientist, you know, who has high reading comprehension and would never, but NEVER take something in writing and infer or imply something not written there.

Cmon, dutch dipshit, put that oversized ego of yours to work. Prove Shooter said what you claim.

Waste water monitoring also saves money as you can target intensive testing......

Computational analysis of SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 surveillance by wastewater-based epidemiology locally and globally: Feasibility, economy, opportunities and challenges

    Highlights
•Wastewater was computationally examined as a matrix for detection of SARS-CoV-2.

•One infected individual theoretically is detectable among 100 to 2,000,000 persons.

•Temperature and in-sewer travel time severely impact virus detectability.

•2.1 billion people could be monitored globally in 105,600 sewage treatment plants.

•Combined use of WBE followed by clinical testing could save billions of US dollars.

Another misdirection of Dr @shootersa was he dismissed any potential long term damage after infection from covid-19!

Scientists are only now coming to terms with what these effects might be!

Scientists just beginning to understand the many health problems caused by COVID-19

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Scientists are only starting to grasp the vast array of health problems caused by the novel coronavirus, some of which may have lingering effects on patients and health systems for years to come, according to doctors and infectious disease experts.

Besides the respiratory issues that leave patients gasping for breath, the virus that causes COVID-19 attacks many organ systems, in some cases causing catastrophic damage.

“We thought this was only a respiratory virus. Turns out, it goes after the pancreas. It goes after the heart. It goes after the liver, the brain, the kidney and other organs. We didn’t appreciate that in the beginning,” said Dr. Eric Topol, a cardiologist and director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, California.

In addition to respiratory distress, patients with COVID-19 can experience blood clotting disorders that can lead to strokes, and extreme inflammation that attacks multiple organ systems. The virus can also cause neurological complications that range from headache, dizziness and loss of taste or smell to seizures and confusion.

And recovery can be slow, incomplete and costly, with a huge impact on quality of life.

The broad and diverse manifestations of COVID-19 are somewhat unique, said Dr. Sadiya Khan, a cardiologist at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago.

This seems a lot for as mild flu!

Shooter hasn't dismissed anything but fear mongering and power grabs since this thing started.

The "facts" change depending on the agenda. What we do seem to know is that the authorities can't seem to even agree on the infection or mortality rates.

And it is becoming quite obvious that there are an awful lot of lemmings willing to hand over their basic freedoms and tolerate censure of opposing views quite easily.

One thing that has made the virus bad is if you have the virus you cannot ask anyone for help.
Just a day or two a man got into trouble for taking his mask off and saying "I can't breathe".
Now days you can't say that. It is something only a black can say.
I am going to hire a black man to follow me around and interpret when I want to say something.
There are so many words a white man is not allowed to say. I would hate to say something that would cause burning and looting to break out.

COVID Numbers Break New Record at Nearly 9,000; Drinking Alcohol Suspended at Bars
By Spectrum News Staff and Anthony Leone Florida
    PUBLISHED 10:45 AM ET Jun. 26, 2020 UPDATED 11:19 AM ET Jun. 26, 2020
STATEWIDE — Florida shattered its record of new coronavirus cases by thousands Friday as the state took steps to mitigate the rapid spread of the virus by suspending the drinking of alcohol at bars statewide.

The Florida Department of Health reported Friday that there were 8,942 new positive cases, 39 new deaths and 212 hospitalizations.

Orange County saw the biggest jump yet at 1,062 cases. Polk County came in at 209 cases, while Seminole County was close at 198. Deaths occurred in Orange, Pinellas, and Polk counties, among several others.

As a response to the announcement of the jump in numbers, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is suspending the consumption of alcohol at bars statewide.

As of Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis is still adamant about not shutting the state down or making face coverings mandatory, although local cities and counties have made it mandatory, such as Orange County, St. Petersburg and Tampa.

This is the biggest record yet for the Sunshine state. The health department reported on Wednesday that there were 5,511 cases and Thursday's reported numbers were 5,004. At the time, last Saturday's numbers were a record breaker at 4,049.

AdventHealth doctors say they are seeing hospitalizations at an all-time high, but they are prepared to handle the increase.

"We've got enough personal protective equipment, we have the staff, we have the hindsight in having taken care of COVID patients. So we know what to expect, but of course. We want to do what we can in the community to keep these cases as low as possible," said Dr. Vincent Hsu, the infection control officer at AdventHealth.

AdventHealth says that right now, death rates are not rising rapidly.

Meanwhile, in Hillsborough County Emergency Management said its caseload for the coronavirus has increased by more than 60 percent, and of those, 61 percent of patients are under the age of 35.

Doctors emphasize wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and hand washing are essential in stopping the spread.

      Wait.
Did shooter miss the memo that alcohol somehow transmits covid?

He thought proper controls require a face mask, lots of hand wringing ......... errr, sorry, .......... hand washing and social distancing.

When the hell did we figure out it was alcohol?

Florida, Texas close bars as COVID-19 cases spike

June 26 (UPI) -- Florida and Texas on Friday ordered the closure of bars as infections and hospitalizations from coronavirus spiked.

In Florida, new daily COVID-19 cases ballooned to nearly 9,000 Friday, after seeing a record 5,508 new cases on Thursday. More than 4,700 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to Texas hospitals Thursday, the 14th consecutive day of record-high hospitalizations. Nearly 6,000 new cases were diagnosed, also a record daily high.

The United States registered more than 40,000 new infections in the previous 24 hours, setting a new record for cases in a single day.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order shuttering bars and "similar establishments that receive more than 51 percent of their gross receipts from the sale of alcoholic beverages."

They were required to close at noon Friday, but allowed to remain open for delivery and takeout, including for alcoholic beverages.

Texas bars were initially allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity June 11 as part of Abbott's Phase 3 guidelines for reopening of the state's economy.

Abbott also ordered restaurants to limit dine-in service capacity to no more than 50 percent beginning Monday, while banning most outdoor gatherings of 100 or more people without prior approval from local governments.

The clampdown came after the state's positive test rate surged to 11.7 percent Thursday. Abbott warned earlier this month that a rate of about 10 percent would trigger new restrictions.

"At this time, it is clear that the rise in cases is largely driven by certain types of activities, including Texans congregating in bars," Abbott said in a statement. "The actions in this executive order are essential to our mission to swiftly contain this virus and enhance public health."

Saying he wanted the closures to be "as limited in duration as possible," Abbott reminded Texans they have a "responsibility to themselves and their loved ones to wear a mask, wash their hands, stay 6 feet apart from others in public and stay home if they can."

His actions were seen as a reversal from his stated position on Monday, when he declared that slowing down Texas' economic reopening "will always be the last option."

Halsey Beshears, secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, announced the new restriction in a tweet.

"Effective immediately, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is suspending on-premises consumption of alcohol at bars statewide," he said.

Beshears added that the order doesn't change current operations for restaurants, and only applies to establishments that derive more than 50 percent of their gross revenue from the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Florida is in Phase 2 of its reopening plan, which, until Friday, allowed bars and nightclubs to operate at 50 percent building capacity. Restaurants are also allowed to operate at 75 percent building capacity, with tables spaced at least 6 feet apart.

Despite those allowances, some establishments have closed in recent days due to the rising cases throughout the state.

The U.S. surge is most pronounced in states in the South and West, including Texas, Florida, Arizona and California.

In Arizona, health officials reported more than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases for the fifth time in eight days Friday. The total of 3,428 new infections was the second-highest ever recorded in the state.

Gov. Doug Ducey on Thursday implored residents to take more precautions, including staying home except when necessary and wearing face masks in public.

"The rate of the spread of this virus is unacceptable and it is time for us to step up our actions and our personal responsibilities regarding this virus," he said.

So, the alarmists are saying that c-19 cases could be 1o times higher than is currently being reported (although I have no idea how that number could even be calculated).

But as a thought experiment, let’s assume that is true.

Doesn’t that also mean that the proportional death rate for this virus is 10 times lower than is presently being reported, so this virus must be much weaker than we thought?
